The Second Annual Independence Day Celebration sponsored by the Barnett Reservoir Foundation and the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District will be held at both Old Trace Park and Lakeshore Park featuring kid zones, crafts, live music, food vendors, a classic car cruise-in (Lakeshore Park only), MS National Guard displays and flyovers of military airplanes and historical aircraft.

Patrons of both parks will enjoy watching the lighted boat parade procession which will leave from Main Harbor at approximately 8 p.m. The Friendship boat, with Grand Marshall General Collins and his guests Wounded Warriors and Brain Injury Assoc. of MS, will lead the parade out of the harbor.

At 10 p.m. a grand fireworks display will be launched from a barge in the middle of the lake making a beautiful display over the big water. Simulcast of countdown and musical accompaniment for the fireworks will be provided by MISS 103 (102.9FM).

Old Trace Park: WaterFest will be held in conjunction with the Independence Day Celebration from 2-6 p.m. And the Blessing of The Fleet will take place at the Jackson Yacht Club harbor be-tween 6:30 and 7:30p.m. Old Trace Park musical lineup will feature: Will & Linda from 2-6pm, DoubleShotz entertains from 6-8pm, and national recording artist Steve Azar takes the stage at 8:00 p.m.

Lakeshore Park: 2nd Battalion 20th Special Forces—AIRBORNE UNIT will be onsite. Stanford’s Mississippi Battery will setup an encampment and provide a living history display. Classic Car Cruise-In takes place from 4-8pm. Lakeshore’s musical lineup will feature: Luckenbach from 2-4 pm; Southern Steele from 4-6pm and The CHILL will headline the live music from 6-9:30p.m.

The PRVWSD will extend public parks and boat ramp closing until midnight for the event.

Sponsorship, volunteer help and advertisement are a must to make this event a success. We welcome your participation in any way in our event. The Foundation is willing to take any amount of donation. (Remember all donations are tax eductible.)

A VIP section will be provided at the Jackson Yacht Club and tents with parking area will be available for the significant sponsors use.

The admission is free, therefore, we expect a very large audience.

Vendors are invited to provide services for the events. Interested vendors should contact the representatives listed below for detailed information.

We are asking for any level of sponsorships/service donation/publicity/volunteers. All major sponsors must be secured by June 3rd to ensure proper logo and t-shirt endorsements.

In order to give back to our sponsors, we are offering a promotional card with your discount to bring the event patrons into your business. These cards will be distributed during the event to park patrons. This is an opportunity to directly reach the reservoir community.
